Capital Soccer is proud to offer our club players a new strength and conditioning program during the winter indoor season for players in the 2005 and older age groups. Beginning on Sunday, November 5, players will have the opportunity to train in a structured, developmentally age appropriate environment, with an emphasis on the following skills:
Training Times: Each training session is scheduled 1 hour before regular team training times. Each training session will be limited to 15 athletes.
Registration: (please only register for the session that your team is scheduled)
Veteran strength and conditioning coach, Bill Laidlaw, will facilitate each strength and conditioning session. A native of Brockville, Ontario, Laidlaw has worked with professional and amatuer athletes of all ages and sports for the past 22 years. Prior to Capital Soccer, Bill served as strength and conditioning coach at Norwich University, St. Michael’s College and the University of Vermont. Currently, Bill coordinates the strength and conditioning programing for the Middlebury College women’s soccer team and he runs the “Solon Strength” program at Montpelier High School.
A 1990 graduate of Mercyhurst University, Laidlaw was on the men’s soccer team roster for 1 season. As a highly decorated Canadian oarsman, he also competed on the Mercyhurst University varsity lightweight rowing team for 4 years. A husband and father of 3 children, Bill is a special educator at Montpelier High School. He also is an NSCA-certified strength and conditioning specialist and a certified USA Weightlifting club coach.
