Capital Soccer Club is pleased to introduce a new and exciting program for the fall. The Capital Soccer Fall Development League! The Fall Development League is a 7 week program for girls and boys in the middle school ages and below which will provide high level training and a competitive league experience for all enrolled.
Similar to town based fall leagues, all players who register for the Fall Development League will be placed on teams for weekend matches. However, unlike traditional fall leagues, which emphasize group/team training in preparation for league play, the Fall Development League has an increased emphasis on the individual player. Coaches will train players in small groups with a focus on improving all areas of the player’s “technical toolbox”. There is, of course, still plenty of play involved!
Every Sunday players will play in a competitive league match with their “team". Coaches will not only coach the match but will act as referees from the sidelines in an effort to keep the spotlight on the players. While we will keep score and standings, the emphasis on the Sunday matches will be on the players and allowing them the opportunity to showcase their skills in competitive match situations.
Players will attend two training sessions per week, every Tuesday and Thursday, and will play in a weekly “league match” on Sunday’s. All training sessions and Sunday matches will be held at Capital Soccer Club’s home fields at the Ice Center in Waterbury.
