Volunteer Program

Purpose:

Capital Soccer Club aims to offer its players a quality soccer experience at a reasonable cost.  With limited paid administrative staff, it depends on the volunteer efforts of every member of the Capital Soccer family to carry out its fundraisers and general soccer activities. The Capital Soccer Club Volunteer Program is an “honor system” of volunteerism that allows the club to function and thrive in a fiscally responsible manner, while encouraging a sense of community and ownership among its members.

Requirements:

  • Each family is expected to earn 3 “volunteer credits” per soccer season
  • Families with multiple players in the program do not need to satisfy more than the required 3 volunteer credits
  • A volunteer credit generally consists of a work shift (usually 2-3 hours)
  • All 3 credits are earned for season-long responsibilities, such as Parent Rep, Board of Directors member, or committee member
  • Volunteer credit can be earned by becoming a sponsor or referring a new Capital sponsor
  • Families who do not wish to volunteer can pay a one-year opt out fee of $150 (please mail check to Capital Soccer Club, 4 North Park Drive, Montpelier, VT  05602)
